We use plytanium V-groove siding. We believe it to be far better than Smart Side® or Masonite®. We build our own trusses; they are glued, gusseted, and stapled.
We make them strong enough to hang an elk.
We use 2x4 instead of 1x4 trim. Our top plates are 2x6 on top of a 2x4. We start with 4x4 pressure-treated skids, 2x6 floor joists on 16" centers and 5/8 OSB, and finish with thirty-year architectural shingles.
